Stripes of cedar shade
Winding back-mountain round-about
Thatched roof in a clearing
Screened by wild wisteria

Jeanette is an artist and poet. The subjects of her artwork include Japan’s wild plants and small creatures, fragments of the past, and microcosms of Nature. She loves to explore satoyama (communally used mountains in rural areas) and discover unnoticed beauty. Her poetry, which accompanies the paintings, is inspired by Nature and life in Japan. She has lived in Japan since the 1980’s.
