Kanzan in Bloom
by Maria Tosti
Picture
Spring returns and, like every year, keeps its promises and sends us to rebirth. Each time it infuses us with hope and encourages us to blossom again, despite life's wounds, despite our downfalls. Spring is always a starting point. It is that fervor, that fizzing that we feel inside, that desire to embrace life anew, the urge to set out again in search of new things. Each year it brings us the same message of beauty and encouragement. Hanami under the Sakuras and Kanzans is always a magical time!
Maria Tosti is an Italian poet and artist from Perugia. Her passions are writing, photography and
drawing. She is a video maker too. Her literary debut was with the multilingual poetry book "Voci ai confini dell’anima” – “Voices to the Bounderies of the Soul” - published by Thoth Editions/Mario Vallone in the year 2014 with
poems in Italian, English, French and Spanish, in various literary genres. She loves Japanese short-forms of poetry--such as haiku, tanka, and senryu--, creating visual poems like haiga and shahai, and writing short stories and  haibun. Many of her literary and artistic works have appeared in literary journals, magazines, blogs, websites and anthologies in Italy, China, India, Canada, USA, Brazil, United Kingdom, Germany, New Zealand, Ireland, and Australia. She is also a lyricist in Italian. Two of her lyrics have been set to music.
