I am but a broken vessel
fuse my fissures and gaps
my bone-deep imperfections


Heal me
​

help me see beauty in my broken parts
traverse my skin with golden rivers
teach me to illuminate my repairs
​April Zay is a fine artist and has been folding Origami since she was a child. She loves working with beautiful, handcrafted paper to create unique folded pieces. Additionally, she is a painter, jeweler, portraitist, teaching artist, and founder of Hummingbird Arts Studio since 2006. Currently, April is part of Princeton Makes, an artist co-op in Princeton, NJ, where her creations are for sale. ​Poet/lyricist Arlene Geller is passionate about writing. Her poetry has previously appeared in White Enso and in Tiferet Journal, Tiny Seed Journal, and other literary publications. Her prose poetry, The Earth Claims Her, is now available from Plan B Press and another collection, Hear Her Voice, will be published by Kelsay Books later this year. Collaborations with composers include commissioned pieces, such as: Elusive Peace, which premiered as part of Service of Lessons and Carols at Vassar College; and River Song, featured in the world premiere of I Rise: Women in Song at Lehigh University and since performed in numerous national and international locations.
