Falling Stars

Open autumn night
A spider swings from the web To the falling star Searching for a wish Amid the bright falling stars In empty autumn Solacing alone Near the basho's old garden Falling star at close Autumn falling stars How difficult to express Over happiness The last of autumn A spider weaves necklace out Of a falling star Blow of autumn wind Rearranging the track of Autumn's falling stars After falling stars Still scattered the universe Over the ground Streak of falling stars Out of pitch black nothingness Unto unknown end Nearly first full moon Capturing the falling star By my haiku A quiet blank space Dark skies soaked in twinkling lights And the falling star |
Christopher Calvin completed his associate degree in english studies at the University of Airlangga in September 2021. His haiku received an Honourable Mention in the 2021 International Haiku Contest on the theme of gourds and third place in the Tomato Art Fest Haiku Contest. In exploring the haiku world, he feels grateful that some of his English haiku were appreciated in international publications, such as Creatrix #55 as well as Failed Haiku issue 71. He is trying to share more haiku on international platforms.
